Not me. But it can easily happen if you use the rear wiper when it is frozen stuck. Remember to loosen it first.

Same here, car is 4 months old. It's not covered under warranty here so that sucks any idea how much it costs? It's just the rubber thing, not the whole plastic grip too

It must be a poorly made part and it shouldn't happen so soon.

Mines did too. Car is a year old next month. Managed too get it changed as a goodwill. I just politely pointed out that the car at the time was only 10 months old. The girl said no too begin with but they could replace it for 16 pound and that's with a years warranty. Hmmmmm I thought you've just shot yourself in the foot there...... She got it replaced free of charge

Mine went last week, 4 months old, went to the local dealer and they had to order from Germany took 4 days, they tried to charge but I stood up to them and replaced FOC. Looks to be a common fault.

I have never had a rear wiper split on me in years of motoring.

There's a five page thread on babybmw forums about the rear wiper splitting, seems pretty common although ours is ok.

Cheers

Mine went after 7,000 miles and 8 months... Bit of a joke if you ask me!

If I weren't so financially stuck in it I would have been shot a good few months back, I had less problems with my previous two Fiats!!

Mine went last week also, put id down to such a harsh winter over here in the UK. I'm always pretty vigilant to un-stick it before using it, and have never had to replace a rear windscreen on my cars before. Glad im not the only person on here. I replaced it with a Bosch one, looks identical so probably going to fail again soon

Mines split and it does not last .Its on back order and due in may due to the supplier gonig out of business . I have had the car a year .The BMW dealer said go to Halfords and get a rubber but why should I ?. I think these items should last 2 years and I treat all blades with respect and this rear blade has not come upto standard shame BMW !

Popped into the dealer about this last night and was told that bulbs and blades are covered for the first three months or 3000 miles only on new cars. I did get the "It's not very common sir" line which made me laugh. Waiting for a call back as to whether or not I'll have to pay. Car is just under seven months old.

Mine split within 4 months also. Appears to be a design flaw, the guy at the dealer immediately asked "f20?" when I asked for a new rear blade.
