Another Aeron owner here (since about 1999) and another (just one of a few it would appear) not-a-supporter of the chair.

The thing was great when it came out and started an office chair ergonomic revolution, but since has been passed by other products such as the aforementioned Steelcase products. And some of the much less expensive chairs as well.

The Aeron is probably a great task chair, but it's not a chair designed for multiple long-hour stints each day. I'm not a fan anymore. I do still have mine but am looking to replace.

This is my idea of comfort.
Baker chair or something with arms and you choose your own fabric and the type of filling. Last a lifetime and just get it reupholstered after a decade.

Interesting that the second fabric will last 66 years. (71 years if you're a woman) Seems more logical to opt for having it upholstered with the secondary fabric the first time and play the odds that one may want to ditch the chair at some point between 10 and 66 years.

after trying a ton of seats we ended up with the Human Scale Diffrient for most of our chairs. everyone that sits in these loves them.

I went with a HM executive chair for the look, but the Human Scale chair is definitely more comfortable.

Just bought a new brown leather chair from Staples. $100. Comfy.

Bought an HM Embody and had to sell it within the month. The seat padding is very thin to begin with, not a comfortable chair IMO. Played with all settings and couldn't get it to not hurt my back. Went back and forth about the Aeron but it just didn't feel natural. Ended up going to Office Depot and grabbing a chair there.
