Whazzz up?

Hello Fellow Addicts,

I'm a newb to the site but I just put down a deposit for a 135i which will make it my 8th Bimmer. My first one was a '69 2002 and I'm thinking this new little coupe will bring back a bunch of fond memories about the little Colorado Orange sled that got me through college and truly showed me what car handling was all about.

My current ride is a 2005 MB C55 AMG which is no BMW for handling but provides a nice V8 launch with a great sound but I miss my last car, a 2005 ZCP E46, every time I see an M3. MY take on the 135i is it's an "M1" that without the naming conflict, expensive engine and as close as it needs to be and not raise a bunch of complications with insurance and pricing. Whatever it is I'm excited about getting one.

BTW: I'm out of the car biz now but from 2003 through 2006 I was a BMW :roundel: Internet Sales Manager (hence my login handle) for one of the Hendrick BMW stores. I will be happy to provide, any one that asks, my nearly objective insights into dealing with an honest BMW dealer.

Regards,

Bimmernet

Waiting is murder

My deposit is down. My blood pressure is up. This is worse than waiting for a new BB gun from Santa.

I've always loved small, fast cars -- like my old, original 2002. Right now, I'm driving a heavily modified Miata (Mazdasport competition engine, tuned headers, R-compound tires, etc., etc., etc.), but I've been waiting for years for BMW to go small again.

The 1 series looks so good on paper that I dropped all my usual consumerist tendencies and just ordered a 135i. I'm at the head of my local waiting list. I'm also going slowly insane counting the days until spring.

In the meantime, it's good to be in here with a bunch of other nut jobs.

Hi, I'm Jason from Virginia and this is my first day on this forum. My current car, MKV GTI, is a lot of fun, but I'm looking for more power. I've always been a fan of the 2002 so when the 1 becomes available, I'm there. Don't know whether to put a deposit down now or wait to build and reserve "1" on the BMW website. I definitely want the 135 but from what I've read the 128 will also be rippin'. I look forward to spending my lunch break on this site.

Currently driving a 06 e90 330i. Looking for more power under the hood without paying 40k+ for it (like the e92). Possible 1er owner if the prices is right~!!

Kind of dissappointed on the rear design of the 1er, but I think it'll grow on me.

Hello.

I'm Rob. We have a 1991 E30 318is, which I really enjoyed. There's a certain feel that it has that no current BMW has. I'm excited about the 135i, because I wonder if it'll bring back that old 3 Series feel.

Still undecided if I want to get an E9x or a 1er. We'll see. I'm going to have to test drive a 135i.

First day on the site, love it. Interesting mix of folks looking at the 1er.

I have been a BMW owner for 12 years, e36 328i coupe Alpine white, e46 330ci coupe Alpine White, and now have a e46 Sedan Oxford Green. The e90 and e91 (I know, its a wagon) are sweet but can' justify the escalating price and escalating sizes of the 3 series. The e90 is nearly as big as the e39 5 series, come on!

First love was the e30 series especially the first M3. Really like the smaller performance cars. Almost went for the R56 (newest New Mini) until I heard we were finally getting the 1er. Wish we would get the hatchback too.

Looking forward to an Alpine White/Coral Red 135i!!

I just came across this forum. I pre-ordered a 135i about a month ago. Right now I drive a 2005 Mercedes C230. I can't wait to get rid of it and become part of the BMW family again. (I had a 325i before the Benz).

I'm looking forward to checking out the forum and hopefully contributing.

Good evening all,
We have posted the new ordering guides for the 2008 128i and 135i coupe. The coupe ordering guides have all the codes and features that can be ordered for the 1 Series Coupes. If you live in Southern California, you can fill out a no obligation preorder for a coupe with your specific configuration. As soon as we get our allocations and pricing, we can contact you to confirm your order. We will prioritize allocations on a first come basis.

To view the 1 Series ordering guide, you can click here for the 128i Coupe and here for the 135i Coupe.

The full color brochure for the BMW 1 Series can be downloaded here.

Hi, I am Chris, and I am thinking of selling my beloved e30 M3 when the 1 series is introduced in the states. I don't think I can ever drive a heavy car again, and the 1 has certainly caught my interest!

I assume you are going to test drive the new car before getting rid of the E30 M3? I would, it will be a totally different car than the M3 and you will surely make the right call. Oh, and welcome1

Hello all. I've put down my $500 refundable deposit at BMW Fairfax for the 135. This will be my 4th different car in 6 years:
'03 Honda Accord V6 coupe - had for 10 months
'04 Mazda RX-8 GT - had for 2.5 years
'06 Acura TL - present car since July '06
*'08 BMW 135 - 6 spd, Alpine White w/Savanna Leather*
Can't wait. I *think* this is the car for me, can't wait.

I joined today after lurking a few days. I knew the one was in the future and got the email from BMW a few days ago and found this forum. Wife and I picked up our custom ordered 08 335I cabrio a week ago. I have been waiting for the 09 MINI cabrio R57, since the R56 came out last year. Now I think I want a 135 Cabrio, especially after driving the 335I we have. I want to drive the 1 before I order, but I think it would be cool to get the 1 in year 1.

Hi

After driving Trucks, SUVs and a smart car I'm feeling the need for a car that actually handles well on the road. I use to own two BMW E21 and enjoyed driving them so my next car I think should be a 128 or 135.

Hi guys. Been into small, compact cars all my life. I'm excited for this car, although I have not put a deposit down. I'm going to wait for it to hit the market, see what options I should or shouldn't get from feedback on this site and then probably special order whatever the "hot" version of the 1-series is, ///M1, Tii, whatever they're going to call it. Green is my color, and it does not appear on the pallet for the coupe right now, so I'll either wait or go BMW individual (helps to have a good relationship and friends at your local dealer get a dark metallic green with terracotta, cinnamon brown, or BMW individual interior too. We'll see how it all pans out with the people getting theirs right off the bat.

Anyway, pretty excited about this car and the site looks great with friendly people and a welcoming atmosphere. I'm glad BMW gave us a smaller choice than the rather large, and fairly ugly if I do say so myself, E92 3-series.

regards,

amir
