Safty Belt Bong

Was just curious my passenger seat belt if not fastened doesn't make the bong noise if someone is sitting in it where as the driver seat does.. Most cars Ive been in have this feature, does it no longer exist or would there be something wrong in my F20?

I can't say for sure but I did a long trip a few weeks ago and one of my rear seat passengers took off their belt on the motorway to remove a jacket. The dash emitted one bong and the three heads that signify the rear seats appeared with one in red. I seem to recall on my old Golf that there was a minimum speed before it sounded.

Be thankful... I'd love to completely disable the lot!

There should be an option to turn if off. I hate it when my car harasses me over not putting on the seatbelt when I leave a bag on the passenger seat.

Why don't you put a seat belt on your bag? I usually secure all my luggage (of some weight) with seat belts when I drive, to avoid being hit by them in a collision. When driving to track events, even my helmet sits in the seat with the belt on.

I also leave the seat belts latched in the empty back seat to secure the seat back. If I carry something heavy in the trunk, the rear seat can fold in a collision, unless you have the seat belts on.
