Picked up a g wagon, Anybody knows how to keep white seats clean.

Hey everybody, so I just traded in the 550 for a g wagon and I had beige leather on the f10 and those seats stained pretty easily. Is there a product or anything to prevent the stains. The seats in the g wagon are porcelain nappa leather (off white) so its probably easier to get dirty and stained. Also has anybody got the leather in their car dyed to a different color. Read about that a while ago somewhere on this forum.

You may find you'll have a compulsive desire to engage in armed uprisings against your government, bribery, kidnapping, and trafficking of all kinds of contraband.

My only suggestion is to hire a few goons. Let them handle the business. I know if you want things done right, you have to do them yourself, but really try to avoid 'working' out of the truck, if you catch my drift. Let this be your status car. It already draws too much attention from the authorities, whom you've paid off if you're a true G owner, but the main reason is that it's really hard to get blood out of these seats.

If the above doesn't work and you end up with a few stains, you don't want to be a rolling box of circumstantial evidence. Torch it and get a new one.

Why they would put white leather in a G Wagon I have no idea, but I'll try to help. My jaguar has white leather on pretty much every surface. Getting it dirty is unavoidable with enough time but you can minimize the damage:

-No food in the car if/when possible. Same applies to kids, pets, mechanics and members of KISS.
-Avoid blue jeans. They'll turn your seats blue pretty quickly. Not sure why denim in particular does it but believe me, it's a thing.
-Some companies offer leather sealants. If the leather isn't top grain leather and is instead laminated (most auto leathers fall into this category) you can treat it with 303 Aerospace to seal out most of the junk. When a stain presents itself it should wipe right off.
-Deep stains are best dealt with using a product like Leatherique. Smells great too.
-Think of stains as input-output. The more exposure to dirt and grime in the input, the more stains in the output. So don't expect to go camping and come out with a pristine car, for example. This is true for all colors but white/cream colors just happen to show it.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

+1 to all that. Use a good leather cleaner/conditioner and sealant. And remember that all that stuff wears off, so apply often. I have white leather in my Rover and it's held up pretty well so far.

New denim/jeans are the enemy. Use towels on the seats, and Meguiars interior/leather cleaner/conditioner has always worked fine for me (I'm not a super auto-detailer, so an all-in-one spray on/wipe off works just fine).

Leather Masters Light Leather Cleaner

then

Leather Masters Protection Cream

buy a bottle of the Leather Masters Ink removal in the even you get some dye transfer from your Jeans.. However if quickly cleaned with the leather cleaner again it should come off with ease from the helping hand of the protection cream

as another member above stated.... Towels on the seats the day you wear Jeans??

sound like a pain and a bit ridiculous?? well then you shouldn't have bought white leather

Otherwise White leather imo is beautiful and with proper maintenance can look great for years.

Congrats on the G Wagon.. one of my favorite SUV's

Besides dark new jeans, watch your leather belts and jackets too. I always take off my leather jacket when I drive our car with white leather. I've had jackets and belts burnish stains which couldn't be removed into the seat-backs of other cars with light leather and I'll never take that chance again.

never thought and will never get white or beige or anything in that category.
black seats all the way. keeping it clean i think it's basically impossible, just everyday use wearing jeans will change the color on the leather. i would say have it cleaned properly by pros like every couple of months or when deemed necessary
just my $0.02

Thought they were ugly too, But it grew on me. Not so sure about the douche bag thing. I think that belongs to the STI drivers, Especially in Colorado.

Well, my daily is a lifted jeep with 35" . So my G wagon drives very well in my opinion. Only complaint is the steering.

Wipe them down weekly with Pinnacle Leather/Vinyl cleaner. This has been my go to leather cleaner for light color seats for 2 decades. They sell it at The Drivers Seat. Do you have a location in Broward?
