The iDrive 'No Signal' Dilemma

I have a BMW F20 (2012). Replaced my iDrive but the new iDrive doesn’t show anything, just a blank screen. Showed ‘No Screen’ in the beginning then went blank. If I connect the old one it still works normally. Please advise, thanks.

FYI: radio, A/C works normally.

Incompatible screen. (the screen is just a display, it is not the i-drive as this is all done by the head unit behind the climate controls)

Had this when I tried to upgrade my 6.6" screen to 8,8" (2014 F20 116i). I gave up and bought a 10.25" Android screen.

I figured I got clumsy on the part number issue. Bought the wrong screen.
