BMW M1 35i Rear Camera

Is it possible to retrofit a rear camera to my M1 35i? I emailed the dealer and the spare parts guy said no, however I am not sure if this is correct. Do BMW have a kit for this and if so, does anyone have any info or a link about this - thanks.

I was told by my dealer this is not possible. Has to be done at the factory, apparently

Yeah the factory one looks awful imo.

By comparison at a motorway services I waved a guy driving a Warrior complete with big nasty towbar into a space that backed onto my car. The guy jumped out and thanked me afterwards but said he had a rear view camera.

He had to point right at it before I saw it as it was virtually invisible, the opposite of the BMW factory fit.

Besides, the rear end of the F20/F21 is aerodynamically shaped to be a dirt magnet, so the camera will have to be cleaned regularly. Auto hiding the camera when it is not in use, is a better solution.

The badge emblem is the trunk handle, so it sounds like this product is done right.

Yep the camera's are tiny so can easily fit as well as being a handle.

If it were my car I would buy this and try and adapt it to fit a BMW badge/handle. I use to enjoy playing around with anything AV for the car, sadly I never took pictures of it apart from 2 very old ones below in 2006.

I think I was the first person to put an A4 RNS-E into a 2001 Audi S3
