Lightbulb BMW F21 with F22 M-Technic front

Wanted to share this since I really think this makes a huge difference on the overall look of the BMW F20 / F21

This project was made by our department in the Netherlands together with the company Wrapaholic

Here the BMW F22 M-Technic front is being mounted.

The BMW was wrapped in foil at the company Wrapaholic, the color is red matt metallic.

The BMW'en was revealed at 100% tuning by Kenneth Olsson manager at Schmiedmann Netherlands together with Liesette Braams who is a driver for the Las Moras Racing Team in the GT4 Europeen Series, where she drives a BMW M3 GT4

Moments before the unveiling of the styled BMW F21.

The final result

On each side of the hood the Schmiedmann logo was embossed in the foil.

Images of the styled BMW F21 outside.

The following parts was mounted on the F21

I've to say it looks DOPE!! It's one of the most beautiful 1 series i've ever seen, nicely done!!

Which parts do i need additionally, besides 2 series front bumper, headlights & grill to make it look like the 2 series? Does these parts fit to the F20 front?

The list of parts I have put in the post is what our department in the Netherlands used for the conversion so that should basically be it. The F20 / F21 / F22 all share the same hood and front fenders so this modification should also be possible to make on a F20. The only thing to note here is that the headlights on this modification is bi-xenon headlights and if if you have headlights without xenon you'll need the standard F22 headlights instead.

Schmiedmann looks pretty nice. I still prefer the 1 series having a unique look to most of the bmw range though even with those angry bird lights! Dont get me wrong this update on the car looks awesome but not sure if I would go to those lengths to change the look of the front end. Excellent work though and a fantastic result

Did the F22 xenons need to be coded to give variable light distribution [VDL] feature as per 2 series adaptive with HBA, which doesn't feature on 1 series adaptive and HBA?

This guy in Germany has been through the same process. He says that coding and programming was a bit challenging rather then installation.

I've done the Sport -> M Sport conversion on mine, this is rather tempting for a second change.

It seems relatively straightforward - bit what are the pressure lip seals please?

Nice, I do like the rear look with the four pipes and the blacked in front air scoops
Probably not the colour I would have chosen. I wonder what it would have looked like in brushed Titanium
By the disc size, I gather it started out as a 116i/118i
It needs the M brake package to really finish it off.

How much did you pay for it? I guess your need detailed coding, coz on the link i shared, the guy was telling that coding was a bit hard, they tried it many times until every single feature was working properly.

To get the eyebrows working you have to have the module behind the lights coded to sinc with the main lighting control unit. (as long as the wiring loom is correct)

Garage List
Wow this is so extensive. Good job!
But this makes me appreciate the unique 'bug-eye' design of the F20. Strange huh?

Seems to be a trend happening here.
They all look great.
Perhaps BMW needs to look at what their 1er owners are doing to inspire them when considering future designs

Hi all - this is my first post!

I have an F21 with the F22 conversion done.. Its was done before i bought and the prev guy made a horrific job on the headlights and i need help...!

Everything works apart from the full beam / flash - so i have some questions..

The car came with LED headlights new - and has the LED F22 Headlights in also.. are there two LED bulbs or does one do everything?

Can anyone recommend anyone in the UK who could help me sort it?

Have attatched a picture for reference

Thank you for reading!

Thanks so much for your reply.

Ah ha!! This explains a lot... my car car came with LED lights from the factory.

This must be why they won't work properly then... Is it that I need to buy LED headlights in this case? The last guy must have done some serious bodging to get this working as the car will have wiring for LED?!!

EDIT - I've just been googling and it looks like no LED option on the F22? God I'm confused!!!
