Nah, weight balance would be all screwed up.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Price is out of line for sure, but fwiw the S85 doesn't weigh much more than the iron M50/52 motors.

It weighs a lot more than the original 4-banger S52 that's in the orginal M3.

Really I was being sarcastic from the beginning, but you guys just take any discussion about M cars waaaaay too seriously. If any one thinks swapping in a V10 for a 4 cylinder in an E30 M3 wouldn't affect the weight bias between the front and rear and not screw up the balance of the chassis, then good for ya. Back in the day what was written about the M3 at the time was that one of the attributes of the E30 M3 was how much better the car tracked (I'm talking the street version) with the S14 (there happy?) v.s. the M20 sitting over the front axle. So my joke was kind of referencing that, but woosh! right over yer heads... The point being that throwing a V10 into an E30 M3 is totally counter to why the car was produced in the first place and why it gained the reputation it did, and lead to a car division now that gives us the X6M. Ugh. Have fun.

Well except he left out the brace needed to keep the S14 intake manifold from vibrating loose...
Not that I speak ill of the dead.
