Stage 1
Stage 1 gives 189kw and 380nm. I still have my stage 1 box, but am using the harness with stage 2.

A guy which works at my local BMW dealership offers me a tuning box for my 125i. The box delivers such figures: from 218PS/318Nm to 276PS/400Nm and costs are around 700 euro. He also promises,
that the box will be very easy to remover and will not leave any trace of existence afterwards. And if I will service my car at the place he is working at, I won’t even have to plug it out. It all sounds good, but I still have some questions which are bugging me: 1. Do you guys think it’s a good idea? Should I do it? I know the risks when it comes to guarantee… but that power is so tempting! 2. If I will install that box, and let’s say after some time I will add new exhaust and air filter, will I need to have new a box? or will those upgrades bring more power without the need of another new software. Thanks for help!

Only you can decide what you like most of some extra power, or 700 euros. |

I just recently had the M Performance Power Kit installed. I'm very pleased with the result. I don't have any before and after power, torque or acceleration figures but from seat of pants experience there is a noticeable difference in acceleration.
Mine cost $2,590 AUD all up including fitting. That's not cheap but as I had also purchased the extended warranty insurance when I bought the car, there was no way I was going to go with an aftermarket tuner and thereby potentially void both the original warranty and the extended warranty that I had already paid good money for. For anyone in Australia who has the extended warranty insurance and who is interested to know about coverage of the power kit, I made sure to contact the extended warranty insurer before installing the power kit. Long story short, they eventually provided confirmation that the power kit and any associated mechanical failures that occur during the period of the extended warranty insurance are covered under my policy. I also contacted my car insurer prior to installation and provided them with details of the kit. They haven't charged me anything extra but they did need to note it on the policy. Again I wanted to make sure I got everything confirmed before proceeding with purchasing the kit. Interestingly I can't hear any bubbling from the exhaust, even immediately after revving it hard. There is a slightly enhanced sound to the exhaust, perhaps a bit deeper at low revs and louder at high revs, but nothing major. Actually I'm very pleased with that. I was actually afraid prior to installation that the exhaust sound would be too loud for my liking as I prefer to keep the car discreet. Also I got the dealer to leave off the M Performance stickers for the same reason. The kit took about three weeks to get to the dealer (Germany to Australia) which wasn't a long wait at all. Anyway, for anyone thinking of getting the kit who values their warranty, I think it's worth it. |

I have already installed ppk, but I found a strange status.
Since my car made before 3. 2013, so I brought a kit with new DME(172p), the install process can't be on going because ista/p ask to change DME to the original one, I guess it should be 1729(the old ver.). And finally, the install process is completed with 1729( the original one) installed. So, I can't confirm if my ppk is be install completed. Checked with BMW China, and wait them to give a contact for talk. The question is, how can I confirm my ppk is installed or not. Thanks for replay. |

If anyone's interested I have an unused JB4 Stage 2 tune with USB combo package for sale. Includes flex fuel wires. It was never used and is still brand new in the post pack that it came in. $450 plus postage. PM me if you're interested.

Unfortunately my health has recently gone downhill, I've just had 2 rounds of spinal surgery in 6 months. There's not much point having a brand new 125i sitting at home that's not getting used at all, so I thought I may as well sell it while I can. Did just over 2,000km's in 6 months. The car was great though, even better once I switched it to Michelin PSS. I'm now in the process of buying an R32.
