Jeez, the morale of us 15'-16' M3 non comp owners is really taking a beating.

So is a csl a race car or still a street car? Kind of like a Porsche GT3 RS is?
I mean does it come with no airbags, a roll cage and fire suppression? |

Back on topic. Just another way to squeeze more cashola out of all of us for minimal performance gains depending on the jump that's made. Come on guys. Didn't you know. Everyone gets an ///M nowadays |

Imo, a lot more needs to happen between the Comp and CS and CSL than what BMW has shown. Base M3 - $70k Comp M3 - $75k CS M3 - $100k CSL M3 - $125k |

I thinking they're just trying to train people on the jargon. It doesn't mean they're going to offer them. I think the possibility of getting another m2 variant isn't set in stone yet. It'll probably depend on sales of the m2c.

BMW has orphaned many "M " owners in the last decade..
1M (replaced by M2) M2 (replaced by M2 comp) M3 (coupe changed to M4..) M4 GTS (in the future will be M4 CSL) Z4M - no replacement announced as yet M6 reborn as the yet to be announced " First ever M8 " etc.. |

Cs Residuals
Speaking of residuals, CS residuals will be the same as standard M3/M4 residuals in about 30 seconds. So now everyone can stop complaining and start driving.
Come get em. Seriously, BMW is about to announce the news that CS residuals will be equalized with standard Ms. |

I really hope they go balls to the walls with their CSL models, and not just like a CS model with some CF bits you could order and no rear seats or something. I think they will since they have all those other models to take care of other customers, but I'll believe it when I see it.
I also hope they don't take away the CF roofs from the normal models and keep them for the CSL so they can say "we saved weight by adding a CARBON FIBER roof!" |

BMW is less of a performance car company, so M and Alpina really meant something when BMW put their badges on a particular BMW platform. Kind of like Shelby to Ford and AMG to MB. If you put M on everything then you quickly realize the M doesn't really mean anything. You may as well change the logo to bMw. Disclaimer, I own a Porsche Boxster 718. |
