I also noticed the wording changed on my latest Yamaha motorcylce purchase. (Bought a brand new FZ-10 last month).
It stated "Do not go over 6000rpm for extended periods for the first 600 miles".
We need to know how they define "extended"

Sweet ride, always loved the 4 door cats! I’ve raced a few in the 1 at race events. Pretty cool how much power they are capable of on the stock motor/trans.

I don’t recall low to mid 150’s for sure, that was a stock Cat and I was only on 18psi. Both of us had passengers, Pretty sure at that time I still had the 155 mph speed limiter. The car now does 160 mph at those events plus or minus a couple mph depending on weather conditions

Congrats on the Hellcat Charger!

Had a Charger SRT as a rental for 2.5 weeks and toured TX, AR, MS, TN, AL, FL, LA and back to TX in 2016. Was an awesome trip, but the car is indeed huge. Feels "larger" than my E39 at least, but it was a great car. Tires didn't hold up properly though hahahaha

Enjoy and safe drive!

These Pirelli summer tires indeed can't hold this power. I have gotten wheel on accident a couple times. I'm running them till they are done, though. Then I guess I'll see what options I have.

Would do the same, but who changes tires on a rental

What was impressing on the SRT was the fuel consumption. Got around 28 Mpg...

How is the Hellcat doing there? I know, not really a fuel sipper and not at all the purpose of this car, but just interested to see where it stands (especially compared to the E9x M3).

I'll let you know on the MPG. The stock tires seem to last under 20k for everything so I will be changing tires at some point

Congrats on the purchase. That thing must be an absolute beast to drive!
Agreed 100%.

While at University, I had a holiday job where we drove new cars from the factory to the transportation yards. Believe me, those cars were well and truly broken in way before the customer got his hands on his car. The performance cars, especially, were hammered.

Let us not even talk of how customer's cars get treated at the dealerships.....

Oh and to the OP, many congrats on an epic car.

Wish we got some proper US muscle cars here. We only get the 5.0 V8 Mustang, but that is hardly a performance car.

The S550 Mustang is quite the performance car, actually.

Yep. I was a lot attendant one summer at a local Nissan dealership back in the mid 90's. Loved it when I got the call to take a new 300ZX turbo to fill up the tank as it had just been sold and the sales person threw in a "free 1st tank of gas" to close the deal.

Problem is, where I and most other people live at over 5500ft, the Mustang is not fast. In fact, the car I just ordered, a G30 540i, is miles quicker up here.

You need a turbo / supercharged car here.

Good news, you can buy a boosted S550 for mid 30s here

Yep, no matter where you go, at some point you are bound to encounter a 16 to 25 year old boy jumping behind the wheel of your car. It's hard to control.

In retrospect, I was a total ass back then and deserve the karma of some 20 year old pimple faced jack ass bouncing my M2 off the rev limiter as he pulls it into the oil change bay at the dealer.

The kid in the service department at the Moto Guzzi dealer dumped my bike off the stand while they were replacing the throw out bearing, resulting in a busted mirror and a dented tank, so perhaps my karmic debt has been paid? One can only hope.

5,500 ft is not in any way going to bridge the gap between an 11.8 1/4 car and a 13.2 second car. Maybe if you'd said M550i.

Back in the day a buddy had a B6 S4 and I had an M Coupe. In Dallas or Vegas (where we each lived) my BMW was noticeably quicker. At my folks place in Santa Fe, at 7k feet, it was closer, but still not equal. However driving up the ski hill, over 9k feet, he'd have a small advantage. And this is two cars that were less than a half second apart in 1/4 mile times and actually about even 0-60.

The n/a 5.0 Mustang up here are in the 14s. I don't know if we get detuned versions of US cars, or maybe our fuel just suck.

Similiarly, a 6.2 V8 C63 and 4.0 V8 M3 are also in the 14s up here or maybe high 13s.

Wow, the advertised lease deals on these are insanely good. About $200 cheaper a month than my M3.

Yes, I'm going to remove the bumper guards. I told the dealer not to detail it as I will do it myself.

I need winter wheels so if they're cheap. Otherwise, I'll just buy a replica set for $650 new.
