I have a 118i 2012, 3 days ago it rained very hard in my cityFirst of all, sorry for my bad English. I have a 118i 2012 sport, 3 days ago rained very hard in my city, I crossed a street with water stuck, it was necessary, I had an emergency at home, anyways, next day when I turned on my car, it shake, I never felt it before, shake goes when it warm up, shake only when is cold, I used ISTA and only got 1 code
120308/Permanent: Charging pressure control, plausibility. Pressure too low. and screen show me it (I took the photo of google bc my original picture is in Spanish) I'm thinking about a Coil pack damaged because of water, but ISTA doesnt show any misfire, I know sometimes you can have a misfire but not detected on scanner, what Can I do? If I clean codes, it appear again when I drive at 120 km/h (75 miles) |

If the engine has inhaled water, you are lucky if it runs at all. It is not uncommon to get complete, mechanical engine failure in such situations, since fluids are not compressible.

The manual has wading precaution on page 133 ("Driving hints | Driving precautions"): maximum water depth 25 cm (9.8 inches) - that's approximately axle (half the wheel) height I guess , drive very slowly in still water (mind other cars causing waves ). |
