DIY door handle panel replacement?
So it has happened...
I´ve scratched the brushed aluminum door handle on the drivers side. This annoys me alot since the car is only 3 weeks old. Also I cant just ignore it since I see it every time I go in and out of the car. I think the best solution is to replace this brushed aluminum panel. My question is if this can be a DIY job? I really want to keep the cost down because I know how expensive the smallest jobs are if you take it to the dealer... Just to be clear its the part 14 on the picture below. There is a thread in the main f20 forum where the guy has upgraded his audio. Part of the DIY is how he took the door trim off. Go take a look

Yes DIY and save your cash.
Replaced my Alu Hex with the CF trim myself. I was too gentle to start with but the key for me was to pull the very bottom away first using the gap that is there deliberately and then work your way up to the top along the bottom edge. Refer he the F30 DIY guide as mentioned above for pictures etc. |
