Joe Average might not see the difference, but M135i owners will. Anyway, this topic reminds me of Fiat owners that put a Ferrari sticker on their car. Or women that stuff their bra. Don't try to be what you're not. Be proud of what you are/have. |

I simply don't understand why anyone would want to pretend their car is something it isn't. If one of my friends put an M135i badge on anything that wasn't an M135i I would rip them to shreds for it. |

I overheared a chat between management trainees in my company that had to order a car. Two master engineers that didn't have a clue that the 1-series they could order where RWD. When I asked them "what is the benefit of RWD", they both said: "NONE, you have to avoid it, it's old school!!". Actually, they couldn't understand why BMW claims to be premium when they are still on ancient RWD technology!! WTF?? When I told them my mate ordered an M135i, both of them asked me.... What the hell, he's a millionaire or what??? The M/// badge they know, although they don't know what it means by a loooooong shot. For them a 114d with an M badge is Mythical and by consequence admirable, a 550i with Msport and all the dynamic/active candy without an M/// badge is just a common vehicle to them. So put the M/// badge on, and enjoy the perfect superlative 125i as a sublime everyday car that really is a magnificent ride! Last edited by KoenG; 01-08-2013 at 07:04 PM.. |

Since you're a purist, but 99% out there isn't. Probably you feel proud about it also, but You shouldn't. It's not because we all know, we're better.

An M badge.
At worst, perhaps it will get a chuckle or a snide comment from the purists who see it. It is not going to harm the world As you can see in picture below, this is when mods and add on are wrong. This is when you have to say 'NO' thats not right!!!!!!. Then laugh This proves the point, any car that has 'Bolt on crap' to imitate, does not fool anyone. |

Lol thanks for all the opinions. Certainly some differing ones!
In the lead up to my car arriving, I guess I'm obsessing over every little thing as a way to manage the excitement. The car is already covered in M badges to be honest. How many, one of every wheel and one on the steering wheel? Am I missing any? One I get it all I'll want to do is drive!! |

To anybody that knows your car will be a 125. Unless you're going to modify the exhausts. Take all the badges off and stop worrying about trivial crap lol |

I'm thinking of going the opposite way and debadging mine. I wish I'd have ticked the box on this when ordering the car.
A cleaner rear on the F20/F21 looks much better imho.

No I don't believe that. Thats why I said: "Joe Average might not see the difference, but M135i owners will."

I didn't even feel right about putting the ///M license plate frame from my M3 on the M-Sport when I got it.

I am told by my dealer that if you want to de-badge your car, just use dental floss to remove the badges (this is how they do it) Use the same action as you would on teeth A see-saw action with the floss held to the duco by one finger on each side works a treat and does not harm the badge or duco. |

Be careful that you don't apply too much heat if you are using a hair dryer, you could blister the paintwork.
If it is warm enough just use the floss. A mate tells me that he used a spray of WD40 or similar lubricant as it allowed the floss to slide between the adhesive backing and the paintwork and wets the adhesive so it does not restick. You then wash clean the area with your car wash and polish the area with a cloth. |

It annoys me to see people putting m badges or rs badges on there car while they are not.
With my knowledge of cars i can make out the difference if it is an m or rs version or not. I would debadge it to surprise unknowing pricks in big 5 series or a6 stinking diesel cars and like them to think, oh my god get out of my way with youre '1 series f20' until you step on your gas. I will always love rather 'small' cars with big engines like an m135i, ttrs,rs3' megane rs,focusrs etc etc... Big diesel cars and suv's are major pollution cars, ok also gasoline cars but not as much. If they can upgrade the range mileage of electric cars, for sure a tesla roadster or tesla model s for me! |
