Any good field-proven tyre configuration for 8.5Jx19" (VMR V710) wheels?

Hi there..
Im considering to buy the VMR 710 gunmetal alloys in 19" 8.5Jx19, ET35. I'm not fully sure about the type configuration but I'm considering 225/35R19 (front) and 255/30R19 (rear). Does anyone know if this will work? -and does anyone know some good lower-budget tyre models as well? -Any help is appreciated. Best regards Thomas.

I am also considering this setup. Sadly not much info is available to wether this would fit the F20. Tyre sizes seem to be a good choice.

I think the original rear size is 245/30-19, not 255.

Here are the dimensions from the BMW F20 accessory catalogue:

Front:
7,5 x 19
225/35 R19Y

Rear:
8J x 19
245/30 R19 Y

There are no good low budget tyres....
Prices for quality tyres differ a lot, and a good research will give you a good price.

I think The VMR V710 only comes in the dimension 8.5J for 19", but I guess that 8.5" is ok for both front and rear wheels, since ac-schnitzler is also using 8.5Jx19" for all 4 wheel. I think I will go for 245/30 on the rear wheels, since i guess that 245 will suit 8.5J better and probably sit more tight. Also increasing the width too much also increases the the level of the noise coming from the tyres. Hopefully 245/20R19 will work with ET35 on the rear wheels when lowering the car by 35mm....

Yes, sure, it's a little frustrating...Also I'm considering to lower the car by some 35-40mm, so it would really be great if someone know a configuration that works, -just to make sure that the setup will fit perfectly before insvsting a gret deal of money in alloys,tyres and spings...

You also need to consider that when you go to 19" or 20" wheels it has to have an even lower profile tyre to stay within the rolling diameter.

I saw a White F20 118i sport at the dealers the other day with black 20" wheels on it, it looked like it was on wagon wheels, the rubber was so thin.

I talked to the guy who bought it and he said he had just bought it that way the week before from the dealer. He says it was so hard on the road that it did not drive as well the standard car, so had arranged for the dealer to fit the 17" M Sport wheels that came on it.

Ok, I can imagine 20" beeing almost like driving on the rims. I also think that when it gets too extreme like 20" or more, it begins to look awkward i my opinion, -and you will probably end up getting hemorides as well

I have just put 20x8.5 on my msport with 235/30/20 rubber and I have to say that the ride is not noticeably harder than on the stock 18" rims. I found a greater difference when testing the sport line 125 compared to the msport I bought. It definitely rides much harder in m sport form with lower and stiffer suspension . There is also no problem with any rubbing with the 8.5 width

Hi, Adrian, Thanks for your info, sounds cool with 20", but I think I will just stay with the 19", -otherwise my wife will probably start complaining...
