What options did you go for?

Unfortunately its a company car so it is a standard 118d sport with PDC and enhanced Bluetooth.

Still better than the Astra they gave me before.

I am really looking forward to it.

Will get pics up soon hopefully

Yes you are right, it is far better than an astra. It is sure to put a smile on your dial when you get it.

Looks like Mineral White is picking up - we should have a strong showing soon enough! My car has arrived at the dealer, just waiting for the PDI and regn paperwork + extras to go on!

Ha! The Astra has served me well but now it's time to get into a proper motor!

I chose the Mineral White without seeing it in the flesh. Hope I like it an it is different enough from all the solid white cars around at the moment.

The pics of MW on this forum look awesome, really set off worth the Urban grille, although that's something I won't be able to do, still I think its going to look great!

Why wont you be able to swap the standard black kidney grills with the gloss-white urban grills? The parts can be bought from a dealer or RealOEM.com for under 70 and are a 10-minute job to swap on [and swap back to the black grilles if returning your lease car!]

Thought it might raise issues with company insurance, but what the heck, I might just do it anyway if it is that easy and cheap!

Not a material change

It is a minor cosmetic change to exterior trim that does not change the material colour or identification of the car, and it does not modify any of the mechanical/electrical/structural systems in any way so I do not think the insurance companies would care AT ALL. Its like tinting your windows or applying Supaguard paint protection. If this is an issue, you can always swap back to the standard grill at the end of your contract/lease. The Urban grills really add lift to the Mineral White car and i would strongly recommend you consider it.

Thanks for your advice it is much appreciated. I guess I get the grille from the local dealership? Not available on parts websites as far as I can see looking at a couple.

They pop out and back in without taking the bumper off, yes?

You can order the [2] parts from your BMW dealership and stock arrives in 2 working days.

LEFT URBAN LINE KIDNEY GRILLE / white gloss and chrome at 33.49
Part No. 51 13 7 262119

RIGHT URBAN LINE KIDNEY GRILLE / white gloss and chrome at 33.49
Part No. 51 13 7 262120

HOW TO CHANGE THE KIDNEY GRILLE
Step-By-Step DIY instructions to swap the grilles over here http://www.f30post.com/forums/showth...=kidney+grille

[Requires some tools and DIY capability, its not entirely straight-fwd, but does NOT require removing the bumper whatever the dealer tells you]

OR

Ask your dealer to do the swap for you FOC (go via your sales manager)
They quoted me 150 for the 10-minute job and I burst out laughing, then they said they'd do it FOC

Hope this is helpful.

Got my car today!

Absolutely over the moon with it, will post pics when it stops raining lol.

One problem I have is that my y cable (genuine from BMW today) doesn't work with my iPhone 4 unjailbroken. Works with all my friends phones, not mine! Have tried restoring the phone, changing firmware revision on the phone and still nothing. Phone woks with all other docks but not this, sooo frustrating! Have used another y cable too and still nothing.

Going to go the USB stick route at the moment but hope that when I get my iPhone 5 (when it comes out) that I have no connection issues!

Also back to the car itself, Mineral White is AWESOME, what a colour in real life. When the car came off the lorry earlier it was in a kind of flattish light that gave a silvery whitey green tinge, and I fell in love there and then and knew I had made the right choice.

Congratulations! My Mineral White F20 has also arrived and it looked EPIC. lets get some pictures up here once the weather clears up a bit!

Have you decided to swap the grills? I am going down that road, still undecided on the contrast black roof

Enjoy your new ride

Hi all

After a few days with my new F20, I am in love...such a nice ride...got my iPhone working as well, needed a replacement as the dock connector was corroded. The new iPhone works flawlessly with the y cable.

Love the power and smoothness of the ride, compared to my Astra, this is streets ahead. The run-flats seems fine too.

Here are a few pics as promised...

I have ordered the Urban line grilles which should come on Tuesday, so once they are fitted (doing it myself), I will post some more pics
