Then you'll fit in well here
The light is very subtle it basically just gives you a little glow on the door handles and passenger foot well as far as i can tell.

I once watched a clip on BMW.tv that showed the interior lights of Urban and Sport line. You might try a search there

Have to say i did expect them to be a little more prominent to say it was an optional extra.

It's not the main interior lighting - it's the waterfall lights over the gear-stick and the tiny LEDs in the interior door handles, that can either be the traditional BMW amber, or "sport" white.

Had a closer look earlier. The interior door handle lights are very feint, you need to put fingers underneath to see their light. On mine lights set to sport:
the door handles, roof, beneath the doors and footwell the lights are white Dash, iDrive and central dash are orange. |

Its better in classic as you get a little red light on the door handles. It is very subtle though.

Just happened to be taking some photos of my girl today, so snapped some of these lights for you too.
Here you see the effect on the middle console (from the lights in the ceiling and from the lights under the climate controls). And here's the lighting on the interior door handles. |
