Scottish Newbie - 2015 118D
Morning guys,
Should be getting my 118D Msport on Wednesday so thought I would join up on here since I really have no clue about BMW's. The past year I've been driving a 135i Coupe and have had nothing but problems with it plus in this current financial climate its not the most cost effective car to have so I think the 118D will be a nice change. I know i'll just get told to search the threads and I will but if anyone has any information on the best mapping software id be interested to hear what you have to say. Also I was going to lower it on a set of eibach 25mm/30mm springs or maybe even the 40mm/40mm. Does anyone have any preference on ride height? Finally once its lowered, what is the ideal size of spacers for the car? I imagine this is all stuff that will have been covered a million times but my thread so I'm asking the questions! Haha. Cheers, Doug. |

Congrats on your new 1er
Yes, you are correct. All the mods you have asked about have been posted and talked about on this forum. You could trawl though the many threads, however as most of us are happy to help another 1er owner, I am sure that those who have done those mods on their own will let you know. |

Okay. I will chime in with some preferences. The ideal ride height is 0/0 mm lowering, and the ideal spacer size front/rear is 0/0 mm! :-)
I do think the original rear wheels are too wide, and prefer a setup with 225-non-run-flat-tyres in all corners. |

I would leave the suspension set up the same.
I would add the black side skirt decal with the M Performance, the carbon fibre front lip spoiler, rear boot lid spoiler and side fins and the carbon fibre rear diffuser to set the look off. |

I'm not sure I would like the look of a spoiler on the car to be honest. Side skirt decals? Any pictures of a car with them on? Cheers, Doug. |
