The offset is rather low (would be illegal in many countries, since it deviates too much from the stock offset), so your tyres will be very close to the wheel arches. I think it comes down to which tyre size you choose. Narrow tyres will fit, and wide tyres will rub.

Nope.
I had 18x8 ET34 and that was already very close. Also I am lowered, so it looks more fitted thanks to the added camber. You'll poke for sure. And if lowered you will certainly be damaging your fenders. |

I am pretty sure it would fit with 195-tyres, and not with 235-tyres. Exactly where the limit is, would depend on tyre brand and model, as they have rather different shape.

I would say no as it'll protrude to far outside the bodywork.
Heres my F20 on oem f30 18" x 8" wide with ET34mm and stock sized Mich PSS front and rear. Wheel face is near flush to the body work. Mines lowered too so extra camber helps tuck wheel tops in to aid with less clearance towards wheel arch.

No, 205 width tyre on an 8J rim is not recommended, too stretched. Some folks like stretching tyres but it'll handle/ride like cr@p. From link below, 215 is min width for 8J rim.
http://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/...ce-advice.html Also, 8J Et34mm to 8J ET24mm means rim face moving outwards another 10mm than mine currently. Probably not legal [unlikely here in the UK] so may have to get fenders rolled so as bodywork "covers" the extra "poke" wheel face and tyre sidewall.

young crowd. I have a set of 8x17" wheels for the F20 with 205-tyres, but I haven't really noticed any problems with it, except for the silly looks. My 7.5x17" wheels with 225-tyres look a lot better. The handling and ride is rather similar. I guess 205 on 8" is not enough stretch to cause cr@p. The youngsters are running 175 tyres on 9" wheels. Surely cr@p. |

Yr 205 on 17" 8J have more sidewall than 18" so may be less impact on the look and how the car behaves.
Stretched tyres is a classic example of form over function. It might work for the youth but alas, I'm getting on a bit.....half century this year. Gulp

Your wheel stays in the same position. Instead of a risk to hit the tyre with the fenders, you are now moving to risk to the far less forgiving wheel.
I admit, the chances are smaller of scraping/touching/... when a smaller/stretched tyre is used, but it surely does not eliminate the possibility. I wouldn't do it |
