I see the same over here.

A few years back the service at most dealerships was extremely arrogant. Staff was either ignoring or insulting you, and my local dealership in particular was exactly like Olzoz described.

Nowadays there's still some arrogance in the air, but at least staff is polite, patient and helpful, and I am really treated well. It's now actually quite nice to drop in for a coffee and a chat with a salesman.

It's probably the combination of the recession and the way other brands (like Lexus ofcourse) started treating their customers that forced BMW to change it's ways. I'm glad they did!
