This is a really hard one!
The diesel will hold a better residual value and is also cheaper to tax and probably cheaper to insure. That's the reason I was edging towards a diesel.
Would I be dissapointed with a 116d as I don't really want to stump up a whacking deposit in order to keep the monthly payments sub £300.
10% off the list price of a 118d M Sport (the one I really want) brings it down to £22,028. Is it possible to get it at this price?
If this is possible then the price difference between the 116i Sport and the 118d M Sport is just £723. I am willing to pay that difference upfront. Add in the optional extras and the initial £500 deposit and that brings me to £2618. I would part-ex my low mileage 53 reg Focus (worth at least £1500) so I only have £1k to find.
Is it worth it over the 116i/116d?
