I just checked the manual and it is a bit vague, it says
depending on the version fitted it maybe that the high beam is not switched off for oncoming vehicles, but only the areas that dazzle the oncoming vehicles are faded out. in this case the blue indicator light continues to be illuminated.
so the answer is it might be like the F30 forum describes...
