Stop! Don't use a cloth, not even a soft microfibre one.
Instead, get yourself a high quality soft-bristled paint brush. Make up brushes also work.
The plastic/acrylic surfaces in our cars are really sensitive, and I've found brushing to be the best way to tackle them.
