Lot's of cars do this but it's a soft downshift anyway as the lockup clutch is open for a split second on downshifts so the torque converter takes up any speed difference. DSG/DCT's and automated manuals have to be a bit more careful though.
My old Alfa 156 Selespeed was the first "Automatic" I had that blipped the revs on downshifts. I think they only did that to take your mind off the fact that the downshifts took to long. lol
