me either, no nails or rings...
i think it's just dust to be honest.. and then wiping it off can cause it to scratch the plastic. i don't clean my car very regularly (like, twice a year
) so it is/was probably just a big build up
pah, annoying, i've replaced it now anyway... will be even MORE careful now
