Of course it is true...anything that you do in your car and it is not authorised by BMW, voids the warranty. Now, if the tuning is a reflash of the ECU, it shows on the Car diagnostics. If the tuning, is a tuning box, then you can just remove it before you go to the dealer and then nothing shows up.
