My Father is Estonian and grew up in Tallinn. He would tell us stories of taking boat rides to Helsinki to visit friends. He said he and his buddies would jump in freezing cold water and then jump in a sauna to warm up. He actually built a sauna in our California home because he loved it so much. It was a really great thing to have growing up.
