If i know that I'm only going to be stopped for a minimal amount of time (and by minimal i mean like under 3 seconds), then i turn my steering wheel just over 90 degrees to the side (this deactivates the stop/start function). It also gives me more control of when the engine is to shut down.

Nonetheless we need a better way of controlling this function. At the moment as soon as you stop, the engine shuts off, which i don't like because many times when you stop you don't need/want the engine to shut down.

For example when you slow down and stop at a red light knowing that the light will turn green VERY soon.

A way of getting around this is to have a pressure point in the break pedals to act like a switch. Depress the breaks hard enough and you turn on the function for the engine to stop, otherwise if you only depress it lightly it will stay running.
