Could have something to do with fuel pressure. If the cars sits for a couple of hours, fuel flows back to the tank and the supply pump needs to build up pressure again. Perhaps it's failing. Listen if you can hear it buzz before starting the car.

I could also be a leaky injector, fuel leaks in the cylinder, causing both the fuel pressure to drop and the engine to 'drown'.

But really... the dealership should figure that out for you. It's definitely not normal! What does their computer say?
