I've had many versions of the Z3M. I had two Z3M S52 Roadsters, one Z3M with the S54, and a blue Z3M Coupe with the S54. They were all absolutely fantastic cars, and I loved every moment I drove them.
I've been driving the Z4M Roadster however for about the past seven years now spread out between two cars, and to me there is no comparison between the cars. I kind of shake my head when I see the price the Z3M Coupe with the S54 commands, because honestly there isn't a single thing I prefer to that car over my Z4M. The market commands the price however, so if they're going for those prices, somebody must be buying them!
Just don't blame me if you happen to find out that the Z4M is a much, much better car. ;P
