Any reason E46 over E92 or STI?

I can't offer anything good, but I'll try.
Over E92 - although the S65 motor in the E92 can be made to sound badass, I prefer the sound of E46's S54 with the proper exhaust setup. E46 is lighter. It probably has better aftermarket support. Rod bearing wear can be tracked on E46 but not E9X, so you can tell when your motor is about to blow. It seems that bearing failure is random on E9X, and that is why I'm searching for an E36 instead of E90 for a DD M car.
Over STI because RWD is better than AWD. And I assume the STI is not natuarally aspirated with 8k+ RPM redline.
