This is essentially the difference between VAG and BMW. On VAG cars, you set the switches on lights and wipers to auto, and that's where they stay (and do) even if you turn the car off. It just surprised me, is all.
I don't mind the BMW cruise control at all. I like that it includes braking downhill (
I drive on the limit on a heavily enforced motorway very frequently, and received a ticket in a previous car, which gained speed over the limit downhill while on CC) And I like the choice of 1kph or 10kph increments when altering the cruise setting)
