Actually, the highest trim petrol model was previously the 118i. BMW announced the 125i, along with other new 1 series models and lots of other new BMW models back in January. As far as I know, there is still no F20 120i model, but I am sure we can expect one soon.

For whatever reason, only select parts of this press release were reported on by major automotive sites, while others were ignored wholesale.

And for the record, the most interesting F20 is not the 125i, but the 125d that was announced along side it. Same power and performance as the 125i, but better economy. Rumors suggest we will get this motor in the US in the Mini Countryman and upcoming X1.
