I've debadged both of our BMW's the moment I got them home. The main reason is I prefer the cleaner look of the back of the car, however it does also make washing the car easier. I've always used an old credit card to saw through the adhesive foam back and then used brake cleaner to remove the glue before polishing over the area. DO NOT try to pry them off, the opposite side of the badge will dig into the paint and scratch the car. About five years ago I was a BMW salesman and in emergencies, where the customer has asked for the car to be debadged after it had left the factory, I have removed them in 5 min whilst the customer waited to collect the car!
