Wait, this is to be a FWD car?

I thought the FWD wasn't going to trickle into the 1er--I thought that's what the "i" designation was for?

I liked the idea, and picture surprisingly, until I read that...if I want a 5 door FWD car this size, I will save at least 5 grand and get a GTI...
