You are right. According to the Technical Director of my dealer, all BMW models (even the entry level 114i) have these sensors. When max. acceleration is needed, the A/C compressor is disengaged in order a) to protect the compressor and b) for the engine to be able to provide maximum power.

So no need to worry Mr. Marvelous.
