It is a programme glitch (unusual problem).
A while ago, I had a M5 with a similar fault when I bought it. Funny thing, it was a dealer demo with 5000k on it and noone there noticed. The time was right but the days went backward. I have to admit I did not notice it for a few days.

Your dealer's tech person should be able to access the clock programme on the onboard computer and do a dump and reinstall of that clock display programme. It is unlikely to be a hardware issue. If it is they have to replace the OBC and then pair the new one to the engine's EMS and ECU. Can't see that. It should be a straight forward fix.
