It is better to have 'predictable' and work with it by means of a set up that suits your driving technique and the particular track.
Damping/suspension that is too stiff can cause reactive rebound.
This is where the suspension travel follows the full compression of the tyre instead of leading it. This reaction multiplies the rebound (suspension travel + tyre) speed causing rapid throw back.
This is particularly noticed on track with shoulder lips or dips that the driver is pushing hard onto to achieve a race line.
You see a lot of drivers becoming very unstuck when reactive rebound happens.
Well, I am most likely to go for the ARB's first as this is less of an investment with likely more result
I do understand your way of thinking and I'm not one who plays with the settings of his car every weekend... We'll see with the ARB's first.
