It also depends a bit on the age of the vehicle. Those in market for a newish car will often prefer automatic and lots of gadgets. The last owner of the car when it is getting old, will often prefer a bit more simplicity and reliability. So if you buy the car to keep it for a long time before selling it, manual gears makes more sense.
