Well, on a small track M5's advantage no doubt is negated by the turns and shorter straight, so I am not surprised. In fact most the of the performance cars are bunched together, within a sec or two of each other on tracks like Hockenheim.

If I have to pick between the 1M and M5 on really twisty mountain roads, I will pick the 1M, lighter weight makes changing directions much easier.
