Grappa* my mistake, but I've seen it spelled both ways.

Pretty much it is the distilling of the leftovers from wine-making. My grandfather and uncles have made it before. From the wikipedia link posted ^^^ up to 80% alcohol. If you want to get messed up quick Grappa is the way to go! Great drink in moderation also. Not the most well-known drink here in US of A(you should be able to get it almost anywhere you go in Italy), but my parents being off the boat from Italy I was around it my whole life. Just be careful how much you drink if you do try it, because it hits you much harder then you would expect :biggrin:!
