Personally, I would only buy an X5, and even the new X5 is not as attractive as its two predecessors.

The X5, upcoming X3, and X1 are all very competitive products that I see a lot. The other "SAVs" are stupid.
But yeah, the current X5 is a bit underwhelming for those of us used to the E70 and E53. It's not really better looking than the E70, the interior is marginally nicer and more modern in design but nothing significant. The steering has gone Lexus-light whereas the E70 was heavy and tactile in comparison. Not really a reason to "upgrade" to the F15 if you have an E70. That's why my folks have kept their 2013 X5 w/ M performance engine and exhaust factory upgrades.
