Its's probably better with the old bad pavement bc its more challenging and harder on the test cars. But, the smoother track surface will be better for the public "tourist days", bc there will be less accidents and more revenue for the track owners since they won't have to close down the track and clean up an accident for a few hours while everyone waits.

One lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife is 20.8 km (12.9 miles)! It has been said that that one lap of 21 kms is equal to some 220 kms of German roads.

Btw... the first time I drove the 'Ring back in 1991, one lap only cost DM5! That's about two and half euros in today's money! It was also more charming bc you had to know the secret way into the track and you paid an old man in cash.
