My M135i (which of course doesn't have a dipstick) decided to suddenly need oil (I run the measurement tool every couple weeks out of habbit from when I had cars with dipsticks). Well the next day it didn't. Then the next it did. And so on for a few days. Then it always needed the top up so I gave it the litre it was asking for.

Problem for me was my 116D used to do this and I was able to verify the oil level on account of it actually having a dipstick. Whenever the sensor said "fill me up" I could check and see it didn't need filling up.

Dunno what to trust but y'know... if BMW are happy to let the computer decide I should do something with the car then they can deal with any issues that causes...
