IMO short selves = NO. I work at a finance company on Park Ave and I have yet to see someone wearing short sleeves in my company or others around me.

Right, short sleeve shirts in a business environment are taboo. I get that. I work at a university, though. Much more relaxed. And I have tons of polos that I wear with sport coats. I was just looking to mix it up a bit.
But I'm also wary of the nerd look. I'd never do it without a sport coat, especially since *I am* an IT guy. But maybe even that is not workable.
