I'm thinking a good quality short sleeve linen shirt with a skinny casual tie *and* a sport coat is ok. Some sites agree, but only if the coat is included. Note: I do not work in a formal office dress environment. I could get away with a Hawaiian shirt and jeans if I wanted to.

I saw one site that had what they considered acceptable short sleeve shirt looks and I was amazed at how stupid the models looked with their pants cuffed up with no socks and dress shoes. No offense, but when I see that look I picture the guy wading into a duck pond to retrieve his toy sailboat.

I just want to be able to dress neatly for certain meetings and still not be dying from the heat. Linen shirts are cool and comfy and I have several very lightweight sport coats.

So what say?
If your going to wear a short sleeve shirt, might as well rock a nice polo with a nice blazer.

IMO short selves = NO. I work at a finance company on Park Ave and I have yet to see someone wearing short sleeves in my company or others around me.
