Update: Had a another BMW technician drive my car and then we drove another 116d with different tyres to mine (Michelin - I forgot to note the actual model/type), both on the same day and the same route. We experienced a definite difference in tyre/road roar. The Michelins were definitely quieter, not the best, but quieter than the Bridgestone Turanzas presently on mine. They are just going to swap the wheels of both cars over as they are exactly the same alloy wheels and slightly less mileage than mine.
