There's NO reason that hydroponically grown herb should taste like chemicals unless the grower fucked up big time. It's not like the flowers EVER touch water? Only the roots do......which are what you want sucking up teh nutriens anyways.....

if it is grown in soil it tastes better. if I was in cali I would probably grow indoors in soil or in a greenhouse...
