That's the rational way of looking at it. But to people who have an emotional bond to BMW and their cars, building FWD cars is like cheating on your partner/forgetting your own principles.

RWD cars have perfect proportions and they are immediately recognized as sporty driving machines. A bunch of crap on wheels like the 1GT will not be any different from the cheap Kias and Audis.
